Adriana wanted to hear some records tonight. This is what I played for her:
  • Camu Tao / El-P - WMR Everytime I listen to this I think "I should like this more than I do." It's just boring after a couple listens.
  • Method Man - Bring the Pain
  • Camp Lo/Run/Kid Capri - Come On - We listened to that "kiiiiiid uh-huh" part around 100 times. (that part is like 2 seconds long)
  • Gary Numan - Cars
  • LL - Rock the Bells We started with the Original mix, but I flipped it quickly. Then I cut the record with my fingernail.
No one else is posting to randomWalks, so y'all are stuck with this. hi.

You should put that camu tao/el-p on the shelf for a few months and come back to it and see how you like it. I've noticed that DefJux stuff is best when you hear it after some time, at least from my experience . I was listening to Can-Ox's Cold Vein in the car last night after at least six months and remembered why I liked it so much when I first heard it. I wish I had some Gary Numan on vinyl...

It's been on the shelf for a few months! The difference between this track and those Cannibal Ox albums is that those CanOx albums are classic. I don't actively dislike the Def Jux Presents... records, it's just that sometimes the experiments don't pan out. Sometimes they do.
