As simple as ABC
Ben Hammersley and Clay Shirky perfectly nail the reasons I've been suspicious about the dean campaign:
Ben Says:
But what struck me about the Dean campaign, indeed all of the candidates' campaigns so far, is the complete lack of analysis of policy. Not only were the Dean supporters happy to talk solely amongst themselves, but to talk solely about how cool is was to talk to each other.
I do think that Kerry and Clark have both addressed the issues pretty well, and I think it's clear that they're both comfortably to the left of Dean.

Did you know that Kerry & Bush are both members of Skull & Bones?

"You people are too much! The next thing you'll be saying is Richard Ramirez was wrongly convicted too. I would rather my tax dollars be spent helping educate children so they have a future instead of spent on supporting daily life for people who choose to murder the innocent.

Just a comment - it is more expensive overall to execute a prisoner than to keep them in prison for life. so the taxpayer argument doesn't quite work. in practice, the death penalty really uses extra money to kill people, money which could and should be spent on things like education. I also don't understand how people can think that killing another man, regardless of whether or not he is guilty, could possibly make the friends and family of the victims feel better. why would anyone expect a miracle cure from another death?
