d.c. biking

Northern Virginia would have more than 800 miles of bicycle trails -- more than four times what it has now -- under a proposal released by state transportation officials.

The suggested regional network of bicycle routes would connect Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties as well as the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park. No price tag was attached to the proposal; officials described it as a guide for local governments.

NoVA is a lost cause. Somebody always finds a way to foil anything that involves any sort of good idea. I don't see this happening. I also like all the pretending that the Metro will ever expand to reach Dulles Airport. The completion date is a million years away and already all the property owners are coming up with defenses. NoVA had an incredible opportunity to run the Metro line out that way, but botched it when it converted the W&OD train line into a running / biking trail. I'm not saying that I don't like the trail, but really - what were they thinking?

the "somebody" is anybody with an interest in construction and real estate. Though I did help foil the transportation tax referendum. Was that a good idea?

No, it was not a good idea.

Focus. Direction. Idea.

Agreement. Curiousity. Philandering. Power. Source!

Ting!
