(Basically) every day for the past 6 years I have painted with watercolor for an hour. This activity has proved to be one of the most important aspects of my process, I believe there is a lot to be said for a daily practice. Since the possibility of being able to observe cycles by keeping work in chronological order appeals to me AND since I feel dealing with process is about honoring the ugly as well as the beautiful, keeping a bound journal was the next step.NYC artist Nina Meledandri created a blog-like project inspired by "The House With the Ocean View". Dear Marina, I just come back from Venice. I saw your impressive action area on the entrance of the biennale. The most crazy act for me was, I saw you in the rolling chair with a loutspeaker on your knes. We stood just beneath, 50 cm close to you. You looked so buzy, also to me, maybe you was thinking the same. Just for a moment I was afraid to talk with you. I was there just some minutes, because infront of the entrance ( Via giribaldi, I had my own performance in the area "Brain Academy". I gave some of my sound poems. A pity - a pity. I missed your contact and I rather would like to repaet our really very very old artistic friendship from more that 20 years ago. Best wishes to Uly. Was he also there?

dear marina,
i don't know if you ever felt possessed to write to an artist that you admire before - it seems a little bit embarrassing, when ultimately it could be reduced to the kind of cult fandom that I'm sure yr surrounded by.
oh well! i'm studying at Melbourne Uni - writing a thesis critiquing baudrillard's hyperreality via an examination of body and performance art that attests the realness of the human body.
Your work is what drew me into this area of focus 'cause reading Baudrillard's totally masculinistic nihilism I felt personally offended (!) and found a great rebuttal (although difficult to translate into words) in the beautiful realness of many of your performances. so there it is - i guess i am a fan. despite the fact that i have only encountered flat photographical documentations of your work, it has really made a mark on me, academically yes, but it also just moves me.

Draga Marina,evo vec sjedim 10 minuta ovdje pred kompjutorom i mislim sta i kako da ti napisem,pa sam odlucila biti kratka i spontana.Ciao ja sam Masa.Iz Pule sam ,al studiram u Bologni.Studiram povijest umjetnosti i evo trebam pocet pisati diplomski o tebi.(ne znam zasto al dolazi mi spontano da ti govorim ti,nadam se da te to ne smeta).Eto tako,vjerujem da ti je to drago cuti..a ja bih bila jako sretna kad bi mogla nekako komunicirat s tobom..i postavljat ti razna pitanja o tvom radu.Neznam jos tacno koji ce biti naslov radnje,ali radnja ce sigurno biti bazirana na interakciji s publikom i razmjeni energije.Znam da dolazis u Rim u septembru,pa se nadam da cu napokon vidjeti The Byography.Nadam se da ti ovo citas,ako da, molim te posalji mi neki znak ili barem kratki odgovor.U iscekivanju, saljem ti jedan topli pozdrav sa Jadrana.Unaprijed hvala.Masa Hrvatin

I am a video preformance artist from Belgrade at the moment based in Leeds (UK). I am a big admirer of your work.
Is it possible to get in contact with you and discuss Balkan identity issues through performance art cause that is what I am researching and practicing at the moment.
