Pop Culture Junk Mail (Dec. 1) sez:
If you enjoyed the film, you've got to watch the DVD with the commentary turned on. Not only are director Chris Smith and producer Sarah Price on the commentary, but Mark and his familiar buddy, the perennially out-of-it Mike Schank, comment right along with them. Mark and Mike are just as goofy as they were in the first go-round, and really, watching the commentary is like getting a whole new "American Movie" sequel.

is this like, 3 years late, or what? American Movie - with commentary and extra scenes, is one of my 3 favorite DVDs.

Of course I can't guarantee that I told you about it, but guessing by the volumes of email I wrote (to you!) about this movie, i think it's a safe bet. Didn't you sleep through it? It's a sure shot purchase though, I've watched it 10-15 times, and it's inspiring every time (as is M's weblog.) He reminds me of Mark Kennedy (_a lot_) and a little of Baz Luhrman.

I guess if you can think I slept through it, you can think you told me about it. That's a very significant detail! Was it mentioned in the nytimes article about 'meta'?

What nytimes article about meta? Who is rW? I thought _you_ told me you slept through it? Or maybe someone with you did? Well shit, did you like it? Are you suggesting that I did not nag you incessantly to see this movie in the theatre, and then rave about it again when the DVD came out? Did you know Jude and I fought about whether or not I could put the poster up?
