being right wing
Laura and I were being sooo right wing. We sold a lot of people on our tax plans. For instance, there's the rape tax -- if you get raped, you pay a tax. This is to discourage rape. And the income tax.. up to $50,000 your income is taxed at 90%. Above $50,000, it's taxed at 2%. This is to encourage people to get rich. Of course, there are tax write-offs for Prada shoes and oil rigs. (...)

Just to let you know, I commented on your entry back in June 1, 2002. Not to be hostile or anything, but I'm just offering some more information to your comment.

I guess my sarcasm sort of fell flat.

I'll never understand people who leave comments on a post without first looking through the rest of the site for context; any cursory read through rw would've made (y)our sentiments obvious, no?

Adam, I believe your sarcasm did fall flat. In the abstract and in person it can be funny to joke about murders, haha, but on a website it's pretty hard to read tone of voice. (I know there's a dominatrish out there who would agree with me.) The circumstances surrounding Yoshi Hattori's death, for instance, sound like a bad sitcom - a Japanese (and he really was Japanese) exchange student in an Elvis costume is shot by a trigger-happy Louisiana man who claims his wife was frightened by the approaching student -- but then you have to remember that Mr. Hattori, like the Mr. Chin from your June 1 post, was a real person and sarcasm and laughter might not read well. I'm sure you meant no harm by your sarcastic "It's not fair" title, but I can see how Joannie could be offended.
