The Asian-American rights organization cited
The Asian-American rights organization cited the behavior of the Queens poll workers - as well as similar complaints against workers in Chinatown and Brooklyn's Homecrest and Sunset Park sections - in a report released yesterday that disclosed a wide range of problems Asian-American voters faced last year.
Hostility to Asians Cited at Polls.
Also on Model Minority:
"If it was defeated at the polls it would be a monumental setback for civil rights in the state and some thought it would be better to let sleeping dogs lie and not take the chance," he said. Florida is the only state that hasn't acted on the restrictions.

It would be Wrong and Bad to mention President Bush's run-in with restrictive covenants back in Texas, wouldn't it?

I was watching the Man Show on Comedy Central last night (February 12, 2004), and there was a segment on the quiet Asian male that I found disturbing and extremely offensive. When the hosts of the Man Show called out the quiet Asian male, they portrayed him as a quiet, nerdy, insecure person who liked to draw.
I cannot believe that this kind of racist and stereotypically offensive rhetoric can still be shown on TV. I feel that the hosts of the Man Show, and Comedy Central owe a public apology to the Asian American Community.
I also feel that being a member of the Asian American Community, we cannot afford to stand still and allow Hollywood/ Television to use false stereotypes to poke fun of and depict Asian Americans. If Comedy Central and the Man Show cannot satisfy us with a public apology, I feel that we should seek legal action against the producers of the Man Show and Comedy Central.

I saw that too. I found it funny. It was a joke. But I can see where you are coming from. It was wrong for them to be so stereotypical.
